Castro Still AliveFiled Under: Political

As reported by BBC, The 80 year old Castro is still alive, however his health is still very suspect. He recently called his Communist party leaders to cheer them on, and has also recently spoken to Venezuelan President, and also good friend Hugo Chavez. Chavez himself denied reports of cancer and anything which can be considered terminal. However, It is widely known Castro has seen better days, and based on American Intelligence Reports he may only have months left.

On to a bigger topic, What is the future of Cuba? In July Castro handed power over to his brother and right hand man Raul Castro. With Cuba’s current state, it seems Raul is just continuing what Fidel was, and Cuba as a whole is not prospering. The major problem with it all is the American embargo on Cuba, why must we continue this idea of not supporting Communism to a country like Cuba, all the while, one of our major partners is the Socialist China. It makes you wonder what the US is actually trying to do, as of right now they are keeping Cuba in a level of poverty which would make the poor in the US look like Bill Gates.
