Israel and the Media

UNITED IN CORRUPTION

Well, I am no conspiracy theorist, in fact, I am very much against almost all conspiracy theories. I find them to be often oversimplifications of much more complex matters. The label of conspiracy also implies at the same time, a lack of real evidence to substantiate ones claims. That is not the case with Israel and the mainstream media in America. For the most part, Israel has been given a free ride, and the lack of criticism of an illegal, messianic, war mongering, terrorism-sponsoring-state, and as close to genocidal as it should get for comfort. And it is downright disgusting and pathetic. The lack of journalistic integrity is appalling. Israel is an occupying force in the region, not a single neighbor wants it there, and has made the life of all those who live in bordering areas a living hell. This needs to end, especially after recent events. To support this claim of mine, (that Israel has been given a complete free ride by American Mass Media), simply read the titles of articles written about the recent events.

CNN.com: Israel in ‘all-out war’ with Hamas
FOX News: Israel Engaged In ‘War to the Bitter End’ With Hamas
NYT: Israeli Aircraft Continue Raids on Gaza
MSNBC: Gaza assault intensifies

Note, only one of those is mildly accurate (New York Times) but even then, quite vague indeed. Two of the major sources state that Israel is in a war with Hamas, and they quote the Israeli foreign policy minister. MSNBC is simply beyond vague to make any real judgment. To compare, take a look at what headlines said when terrorists hit the World Trade Center in 2001.

Or just check out this website to see what I mean.

When America is attacked by a foreign power, it is terrorism. However when folks in the Gaza Strip are attacked by a full on force, without ever seeking international approval, acting completely on their own whims, it is just a war against a ruling party. If Israel is committed to attacking those who sponsor terrorism, they should bomb themselves and do the world a favor. I will come back with more material on Israel, just wanted to get my claim about Israel and Mass Media out there and hope people notice this nonsense.

  1. I have nothing at all against Israel (as far as preconceived ideas or prejudices) but I have to agree with you – Israel is a political third rail along the lines of flag burning. I don't know enough about the conflict (current or otherwise) to have a truly informed opinion, but the bias of the press that covers the situation is transparently obvious. I don't believe a word of the Old Testament, but if it were true, the nation of Israel is more of a bully than a victim.

  2. Israel has every right in the world to do what they are doing. My only question is what took them so long?

  3. Moiz Khan says:

Where do they get these rights from?

  4. Real simple. Israel exists. It is legit. And it is being bombed by a bunch of animals daily.

  5. Moiz Khan says:

Even if we grant Israel legitimacy, which I don't personally but I am willing to accept it for purposes of this discussion. On what basis does it give them the right to act like animals right back? Two wrongs certainly don't make it right.

  6. You are not very rational to admit that you don't grant Israel legitimacy. So I don't see the point going on with this. I'll only say what Barrack Obama said (paraphrasing): If someone launched bombs at my home daily, I would do whatever I could to stop it.

  7. Moiz Khan says:

The question of Israel's legitimacy is an entirely separate issue.

And it seems you're avoiding the my earlier question of, What gives Israel the right act like animals in response to other animals as you put it.

  8. They are not acting like animals. That is a subjective point of view by someone who is obviously out to lunch.
They have every right to try to end the bombardments. Simple.

  9. Moiz Khan says:

Hm, well I guess I should take your advice and not continue. I don't think I will be able to change your mind on this matter, and I doubt I would change my opinion either. In the long run, (after reading your blog a bit), we have far more in common than we disagree, and really that's the important part.

  10. Happy New Year. I did a couple of videos on Youtube expressing why I support Israel if you are interested.
Don't mind the garb, I wore funny stuff for attention. Video one Video two
