so much for improving the image of Muslims.

Yep, Islam really is the religion of peace.

Yeah, sometimes I get discouraged when these guys do things like this. It makes my job so much easier.

  5. Surbhi says:

Moiz, this is not restricted to Islam, and not to Pakistanis either. Here in India, you’ll find these incidents a regular affair irrespective of religion or region. But for the presence of a border, it is the same people on either side, so why should the mentality be any different? On my blog I’ve written about how conditions are the same across neighbours – India, Pakistan, Afghanistan.
Well, this just proves that, to quote something I once read, “There is no tool to justify love, but to justify hate – that takes religion.”

  6. Moiz Khan says:

I am not sure that religion is the justification for hate on its own. I personally don’t give religious thought that much credit. As you point out, the concept of male domination and female suppression is extremely popular throughout the world, regardless of religion.

However, what religion does do is add fuel to the fire, and in the Western world, religious views are often euphemistically described, as to not attack any form of religion. They often overlook the religious element to crimes such as this, and that is quite unfortunate.
